So glad you finally joined in! So medications... Well....Most Drs have you start at the bottom and work your way up, so it would depend on what you have tried already. They start with the NSAIDs, like Naprosyn, Celebrex, stuff like that, then try the codeine/vicodine types. After that maybe percocet. Then you hit the bigger medications. Like Morphine and opiate Meds. The meds my son has tried are three pages long now. He just started the Duragesic/Fentenal pain patch a few days ago, so it's too soon to know how that will work for him. What is important is to keep a record of what you have tried, the Dr that RXed it and how it worked or didn't work. That way, when a Dr is going to figure out what to try next, they can easily see what you have had and what help if any it gave you. This seems to save time in trying the same things with a different name. Are you bracing any of your joints? That can lower pain if you are. Other helpful pain reducers can be Hot tubs, polarity, gentle massage, Cranial Sacral Therapy, and there's more. For my son, polarity has helped the most. He had one knee that was normally between a 6 to 9 in the 1 to 10 pain scale. It stays between 0 to 3 now. Keep posting, ask us anything! Cindy C. Guest guest
Hi Cindy C Thank You for writing me, You wrote it really well and I will give my doctor a printout, and one of my friends sister-in law is a cranial sacral therapist, see how much I know. I am going to the doctor as soon as my husband has time because my pain is always between 4-9, mostly 5-6 on the 0-10 scale. I just can not stop thanking every one I am so grateful for having found all of You. I feel so sorry for Dylan, for the struggle he is going through, I wish him all the best, and You will all be in my prayers. cindy clark wrote: From: Tanja Nedergaard Subject: Introducing myself I am trying to find some medicine to cope with my cronic pain, and I want to get off the Neurontin, it doesn't work for me. **************************************************** Hi again Tanja!
