Guest guest
You poor thing I couldn't imagine getting so little sleep. Can you ask your doctor about giving him Melatonin? It's a dietary supplement that's the same as the natural melatonin that our bodies make. I have friends who take it when the travel overseas to help them adjust to the jet lag (i.e., they take it at bedtime in the new time zone to help them get to sleep). Perhaps the dr. can recommend a child's dose of it? In the meantime, I would try the sedative another night or two to see what happens. First Thanks for all your suggestions, we are listening and taking all your advice. You guys won't belive this. But it took him 40 minutes to fall asleep after giving him the 2 ml, and he slept for 1 hour, and then he woke up crying as usual. It was truly like any other night. Nothing different. The doctor said that he should sleep a good 6-8 hours last night. And that did not happen. I just couldn't believe that didn't work. But now I know. I will just try the lavender oil. I was already a little nervous about the medicine, but we were in desperate need of some sleep. Do you all think I should try it again, or just leave it in the bottle??? Thanks again everyone! Guest guest
I would try it again. It may take his body a couple nights to let go of the habit he is in. It may help him to get into a new habit that his body didn’t realize could be possible. Guest guest
So sorry to read the first night didn't work out as planned. How did the second night go? Perhaps you can rub lavendar oil after he takes his medication. Generally most medications take up to an hour before they start to work. Guest guest
Well doesn't that just bite the big one. Hopefully he'll start to get the hang of it pretty soon. My son's chiropractor says it takes the body around seven days to fully adjust to changes, so maybe that's what is going on. Who knows. We'll keep our fingers crossed.
