This is an excellent article . Thank you very much for sending it. I

have added it to the links section of Mitoldies.

I have to apologize to the group because I haven't been keeping it updated very

well. I'd like to ask your assistance now in gathering links with information

that can be helpful in any way for a Mito patient whether it be a child or

adult. The article on Diabetes and Mitochondrial Disease is one that should be

in the links but I don't believe it is. I saw a new endocrinologist on Thursday

who was very interested in that article and kept it to copy. She said she had

never seen the connection reported in the past. Her specialty is metabolic

disorders and I feel as if finding her was a gift but these are the types of

articles that give us something to share with doctors who are open to learn.

There have been many other great links shared and now is the time to send them

to me or to the group in general as we have a very important reason for this

request.

I hope Nikki won't mind my letting the cat out of the bag but I think we should

share this news. She approached me in a private e-mail a couple of weeks ago

regarding the possibility of developing a website that is comprehensive and

includes every aspect of the needs of the family living with Mitochondrial

Disease. Her idea was like a ray of sunshine to me and all the list moderators

and a are working with Nikki to develop this. I will let Nikki share

more about it when she next posts as it has a very special name and is beginning

to come together nicely. I'm very excited about this site as it will be

different from those we already have but inclusive of those as well. The site

will make it easier for anyone searching this disease to find a resource on the

internet with soup to nuts about Mito. I know we are going to be proud of it.

Please put your thinking caps on and help us create something for everyone

dealing with this disease.

Alice
