Guest guest
Thank you so much Candace for replying. The Pediatric Neuro. called in a script after I spoke to her on the phone today for a sedative to help him sleep at night, because she said that he should receive more sleep than 5 hours a day. She said that there were no major side affects just drowsiness. She said that I could try it for 2 weeks and see how that goes. As much as I would like to sleep right now, I am a little nervous because she said that she has never given this med to a baby his age. She said the youngest was 2 years old and he is only 5 months. Just you listening and replying means the world to me. It keeps me going! TequishaCandace Mayer <mommyluvset@...> wrote: Oh, sweetie, I am really sorry you didn't get any answers! Guest guest
Hi Tequisha, I know you want answers as to his sleep disorder and twitches, but in some ways it is good that his EEG is normal. I think trying a sedative is a good idea since he is barely sleeping. Maybe he'll feel better if he's more rested and also I think he needs a fully functioning mommy and I don't know how you've been able to keep up. Let us know how the he does. I really don't know anything to recommend, but it sounds like you're doing the right things. take care. -christine mom to sydney > Hello Everyone! > We just got the results back from the 24 hour EEG that had > done, and the nurse said that these were preliminary results and it is > normal. Guest guest
Tequisha - do you have any family or friends who live close by? Sounds like you need a break and catch up on some sleep if your little darling isn't sleeping very comfortably each day. Don't know if giving a sedative to a very young child is a good idea. Try massaging him around his face area for about half an hour before his main sleep time at night! A friend of mine would suggest using lavender essential oils. That will help anyone to get to sleep. But I am not sure if using essential oils is recommended to a young baby skin. You could use a burner instead. Guest guest
I can definitely understand your being nervous about trying the sedative on him, but just remember your doctor would not have prescribed it for him if there was any chance it could hurt him. I really hope it helps him sleep, so you can get some, too. I don't know how you do it.... some days I feel like falling over, and I am getting more than five hours. Keep us posted. Guest guest
My mom gives me a break at times. And my husband does when he is not working and at school. We both are in school trying to finish. My husband has been doing the massaging for about a month now, and he seems to really enjoy it but I guess not enough to sleep. I also tried the 's Baby lavender sleeptime. But didn't work for him. I am nervous about the medicine. Thank you for the advice.fwaaga <fwaaga@...> wrote: Tequisha - do you have any family or friends who live close by? Guest guest
You can use essential oils on baby's skin at six months old. s makes a lavender wash that is nice. I use California Baby Calming baby wash. It's a bit pricey but it smells really nice and seems to wind Tiernan down before bed.
