Guest guest
Dawn, I too have wondered about hiccups as Maya does that very thing. I know that for her they seem to signal some sort of crisis going on in her body, but it does not always turn into a full blown crisis. They are very episodal with her too. Guest guest
Does anyone elses kids get hiccups? gets them periodically. Sometimes she'll go weeks without them, then she will have them 3 times in one day, three or four days in a row. They are very loud and will last for 10-15 min.Just wondering if this fits with anything, or just another weird thing for her alone. thanks, Dawn

Guest guest
Hi Dawn :-) Madison has them frequently, almost daily and she even had them when she was in the womb!! She'd have them every day when I was carrying her and I could feel them....very strange!! I've always wondered why but have yet to really understand them. -- BIG hugs, Kass, proud mom to Chance(9-Mito) Our future Scientist, Madison(6-Mito) Our Purple Butterfly Princess, and Abby(5-?) Guest guest
DAwn,. My daughter Lexi has had hiccups since birth. In fact, her neurologist has labeled them as hiccup seizures, says they happen ddep within her brain. These are not just a normal little kid hiccup, but deep and loud. Often times they make her turn blue, for which we use oxygen. We, too, can go weeks without one (longest period was almost 3 weeks(, then we might have clusters of them...we've tried anticonvulsants but nothing worked so we don't treat them now. ruth

Guest guest
In my seven pregnancies all my little ones had hiccups daily up to 5 times a day. None really more than others. This is actually pretty normal in utero due to immature lungs. Nothing really to worry about with that. Newborns also have them quite a bit and then usually grow out of them as they mature. I think all of my family periodically gets hiccups and it pretty normal for all people. They do seem to come in spurts, having several in one day and then not having them for a while. It often has to do with a diet change. Different foods we eat can affect this area greatly! Guest guest
Kass, Our doc thought Lexi's reflux was causing the hiccups at first, but as time has gone on we've determined that they really aren't related to her reflux at all...but of course hiccups and reflux would make alot of sense. As always in our ito world, nothing is an easy answer! ruth mom to Mitch (8) and Lexi (5), my beautiful treasures, both mito affected
