Guest guest
My prelimnary results showed abnormalities on the mitochondria with no ragged red cell fibers. It was sent out for enzyme or electron microspy??? Anyway these are the two tests ordered. Should anything else have been done? She believes it is not a DNA defect since all of my mito DNA test were normal. Should my muscle biopsy have still been sent out for DNA testing? Thanks, Dawn a
Guest guest
Dawn Your muscle would not be sent for DNA testing unless your insurance had given prior approval. DNA testing is very expensive and is only really helpful with a mtDNA defect. I had the tests done without finding out the specific defect which is not unusual. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Tue, 14 Sep 2004 18:28:58 -0000 > To: > Subject: muscle biopsy results > > My prelimnary results showed abnormalities on the mitochondria with > no ragged red cell fibers.
