Guest guest
I have both those meters as well and they read differently as yours do. When I spoke to the supplier I was also assured that the meters were within acceptable parameters +-3% (my reading were actually closer than that) and I had nothing to be concerned about. And in any event the HbA1c test is the only one that provides a definitive result and a BG meter should only be used as a guide for immediacy. And the way that you test will alter the results anyway so only to used as a guide. At the last counts I have maybe 5 or 6 meters (mine are usually supplied free in exchange for a critique) and they all read different. I think that the UltraSmart is a bit gimmicky and still prefer the Ultra but that's only my opinion. Take care. The 2 meters read 20 points apart.

One will read 108 and the other will read 128 to 130. How do you tell which one is right? Maybe I being too picky. LifeScan says both meters are within tolerances, when tested with test solution. Any suggestions? Hi Rick, We have meters to give us guidelines of what our bg's are running. There is no meter that is going to be accurate 100% of the time. You could test again using the same meters. The one that was lower the first time could be higher the next time. There is no point in testing twice unless you should have a high number, then it would be okay to check again with the same meter or a different one. Use one meter at home, use the other one when you are away from home. hugs Eunice
