Guest guest
Hello, I am Staci and new at this group or any online group for this matter. I am 26 250lbs and 5' tall. I have a 2 year old and need to one day be able to run and play with her! Anyways, I am in need of lots of support. My skinny mom thinks that the sugery is an easy way out. But I dont. I know that I am going to work just as hard as I would at anything I decided to do about my weight. She seems not to even want to talk about it any more. She just says she see's nothing wrong with me and that I made up my mind so not to talk about it anymore. I do need to talk though because I am really scared. Anyways, I go the support group now and everyone is really nice and I thought that it would be great to meet more people doing this too. Well I dont mean to take up too much time but I am glad for these resources and thanks for reading.
Guest guest
Hi Staci, I'm pretty new too. I had my surgery 44 days ago. I'm down an additional 22 since. I feel great and don't regret it. Your " skinny mom " as you put it does not understand what we are going through. My mom thought it was a bit drastic the decision I had made but let me tell you she is very proud of the progress I've made. Keep up the motivation. You will be up and around with your 2yr old in no time. 237 P/O 215 current 160 goal!!! > > Hello, I am Staci and new at this group or any online group for this > matter. I am 26 250lbs and 5' tall. Guest guest
Welcome Staci! I am Tina. I am 5'11 " and weigh 301 pounds and have 2 young children (7 and 4). I started out at 330 pounds. I am pre-op through the Richmond Facility with Dr. Baggs. I still have 4 pounds to lose to make my 10% and then I can be scheduled for surgery. This group is great! Everyone is very supportive. My mother & father have both passed away but I do have a Mother-in-Law that didn't know anything about the surgery so she was worried and scared. After much education and going to my orientation along with her daughter's orientation, she is behind us 250%. I agree...just leave stuff out where she can process the stuff on her own time. You might find that she'll come around. Just give her time. Tina Pre-Op / Richmond Dr. Baggs 330/301/4 more to go! > > Hello, I am Staci and new at this group or any online group for this > matter. Guest guest
Welcome to the journey, Staci! Have you been to orientation? If not, see if your Mom is willing to go with you. You'll both learn a lot, and she'll see that this is NOT an easy way out. I've heard even morbidly obese people, who somehow have this idea. It's as if they think we haven't suffered enough to deserve our success. It helps, but it isn't absolutely critical, to have the support of those around you. Remember, that first, last, and always, you are doing this for YOU. Uncle Timmy -224 > > Hello, I am Staci and new at this group or any online group for this > matter. I am 26 250lbs and 5' tall.
