Guest guest
i wouldn't turn anyone away at this point. I think it is best to include lots of families since it is also a social group & this gives families an opportiuity to get to know each other. We have a really large group in Rutherford but not every family is able to come to every meeting (we get about 50% attendence most of the time) so it works out fine. Also some families may drop out for a variety of reasons. Co-options is for any child with any disability and their families including siblings. We have mixed disabilities and siblings in most of our groups and it works out really well. Since this co-options group was started by the mosaic moms (mainly Kathy-THANK YOU KATHY!) all the " qualifying " children are on the spectrum, but it is not a requirement. If your group would like to vote to keep it that way you may do so. It is a Co-op so you make the rules. After the group runs for awhile & you see what your attendence is like you can vote to limit the size if you wish, also. If the size of your group becoumes a problem (this is possible since it is on a Sunday & families may be more likely to come) we will can split into two groups, start a new one, or deal with it in some other way.
