Guest guest
I had graves and took the RAI. Never could find a doctor that understood my situation. My TSH was always suppressed after the Radioactive iodine to kill my thyroid. My doctors only went by the TSH to diagnose me. The ft4 and ft3 are the ones to look at. If the doctor says it is normal that does not mean it is normal for you. Everyone has a setpoint of the range where they feel good at. Most women feel good if the ft3 and ft4 is in the upper 1/3 of the range. Well I told the doctors my symptoms(even in tears) because I was so miserable. But they thought there was something else wrong with me. The only thing that is wrong with me is I am hypothyroid now. So I found this group and realized there are many people in the same boat as me. See, if the doctors keep you hypothyroid, the pharmacies get more money for selling statins(for high cholesterol) blood pressure medicine, antidepressants. Well I will quit babbling on. I am very happy self medicating.
