Guest guest
Hello, my dd will be 3 mo.s this week & has brachy. Our pediatrician noticed the flattening at 2 months & advised us to do lots of tummy time. 1 month later, there is no improvement so we went back & the dr. this weekend and she gave us a referral to a ped. plastic surgeon / cranio specialist who is not in our insurance plan. His website states that he uses the Starband. I've read so much about Cranial Tech that my instinct is to go with them (the Miami office is about 45 min. away whereas this dr. is 15 min.) I have United Healthcare and from what I've read, it is doubtful that they will cover this. Should I go for a consultation with both and ask the questions I found on this site and choose based on that? And are measurements taken at the consult? I have no idea how severe a case she is. I am fearful of the specialist advising I try aggressive repositioning longer and then wasting important time. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! This is so frustrating and I haven't even begun! Guest guest
Hi, i havent written to this group in a while. I had spine surgery L3-L4 with hardware, cage etc. The surgery solved the immediate Problem. But i got trauma induced fibromyalgia as a direct result of the surgery. And new pains started in other areas. I have huge squeezing pain on right side which is being controlled by injections and pain meds. But i also have a synovian cyst at L4-,L5. They said the only way to remove the cyst is to extend the cage 2 more levels. I absolutely don't want anymore surgery. I feel like if i get the surgery, the fibromyalgia will get even worse and i won't be able to get out of bed altogether. And i feel like if i have the surgery, then i will get the next set of new pains. I really would appreciate everyone's feedback. The cyst is excrutiating and it is particularly painful in the morning and i cant walk until way after the pain meds kick in. Thanks in advance for all your feedback.
