I started the steriods today, but the breathing is awful! I keep finding myself gasping for air and cannot bend over, because then I get a severe pain behind my right eye and cannot catch my breath at all. The inhaler does not seem to be helping much either. I will give it time, because I only started the meds last night. At least I am not vomiting anymore and the fever seems to be gone. I hope so anyway. You had some high fever. You are lucky you did not go into convulsions with that temp. That is what happened to my little brother when he was about four. My parents had him in a highchair and all of a sudden he started to turn blue!! My Dad thought he was choking, but turned out he suddenly developed a very high fever and went into convulsions! He was in the hospital for a week and the nurses said all he did was cry for his Momma!!! That would be me now! (ha,ha!) Well thanks for your thoughtfulness and hope that you also get through this soon. If you get a chance please tell me what meds they sent you home with. I ended up in the hospital for 6 days. It was weird because I went to bed that night not feeling to well but nothing serious (or so I thought). I woke up at 3am with 105.5 fever. Had to go to the ER and they admitted me. I have been hospitalized for pneumonia 6 times since 1995. I saw the pulmonologist yesterday for a follow up and got a good report I am still feeling a little short of breath. Take care of yourself so you don't end up in the hospital!!
