Guest guest
Yes, I had I took diphereline, a french medi cine for five months(I think they are a like lupron). The problem is that when you stop them the fibroids are regrowing so maybe the doctor didn't explain it right, the treatment is pre operatory, otherwise I don't think you can just do them. Anyway the " menopause " was not so bad and I had hot flushes but I still have menstruation. I sincerely think you should interrogate your doctor more. It seems to me that the doctor is tryig to save your uterus which is great, but he should tell you all. If you need more details about the treatment just ask, I had 13 fibroids removed after the treatment and I've been able to keep my uterus. Guest guest
What your doctor is suggesting is a temporary measurement. These injections have many side effects and once you stop them the fibroids will start to grow again. This is really not a very effective treatment. I never had them myself and I would prefer to avoid them. My sister had them after she had an operation for endometriosis. She took them for 3 months. Could you possibly find another doctor to get a second opinion? If you want to keep your uterus there is a procedure that only removes the fibroids called myomectomy. You can also ask for a uterine artery embolisation which is less invasive. I believe you should look around and definitely have a look in the archives of this board you will find a lot of information about both procedures. You can also read books that describe all the options available. Do a search in Amazon For Dr. 's and Carla Dione's books. Please also remember you are not alone. All of us here one way or another are/or have been in a similar situation. Best of luck andra injections that promote menopause? Does anyone have any first hand experience with these?
