Guest guest
Hi, Listmates, I am starting my son on bethanacol by the end of the week and was wondering if anyone would like to share their experiences with it. Has anyone experienced an adverse reaction? What are some of the positives that might be expected? Thanks, Suzanne
Guest guest
We did a course of bethanacol. The initial administration should be monitored by an M.D. (are you using Hift for this because she'll monitor you). This is due to a side affect which can affect the respiratory system. We used 5 mg per day for 1 month. It made him hyper but didn't help language.. There is a great compounding pharmacy in Springfield who did the dosage for us since we couldn't find lower dosages that 10MG. Guest guest
Suzanne: One of our listmates has a little boy (3.5 yrs) who has been a very good responder to Bethanecol. She used Dr. Megson's protocol with the Cod Liver Oil (Vit. A) in conjunction with this, under the direction of Dr. Hift. (This mom's computer recently got infected with a virus, so I thought I'd just send this info. along.) I will share a comment from Dr. Hift, that of dozens of patients she tried this protocol with, this little boy was just about the only one who showed a marked improvement with the Bethanecol. He also had a family history of night-blindness, which was one of the markers identified by Dr. Megson.

Guest guest
Bethanecol (also know by the name Urecholine) is a drug which affects acetylcholinergic function in the brain and CNS. Urecholine works on receptors upstream, causing the pancreas to increase the amount of secretin released into the GI tract.
