Guest guest
Thanks for all of your responses! I started the diet yesterday and I'll keep you all informed of my progress. My Rheumatologist said it would be fine for me to do it. Since being diagnosed with lupus in Sept 2001 I have gained 40 lbs. I have only been able to get off the prednisone for a couple of weeks during this time. I spent October of last year in the hospital due to a Cytomegaloviral infection that almost killed me. That threw my lupus out of wack big time and I'm still adjusting meds to get out of the flare. I'm on Methotrexate, plaquinil, prednisone 10mg, and vioox just for the lupus. I am getting better everyday. My mouth and nose sores have gone. My hair is finally starting to grow back (I lost about half of it). I have less and less fatigue and I am getting stronger. Now it's time to work on this 45 year old bod and get back in shape. I am an RN and lost my job due to being out over 4 months. The docs all said that they thought it would take me 6 months to get well from what my body went thru (liver, bone marrow, and respiratory failure) and it has been 5 now. You don't realize how bad you feel until you start to get better.
