Guest guest
If THIS doesn't deserve 'extry' points, I don't know what will !!!!! Besides the 'extry' walking and problems ~ your telling the story is along the lines of our other 'famous' storytellers on this loop !!!!!!! ( ~ are you still counting the !!!!!!!! LOL !!!!!!!!) Hugs, Randie xtry points? Well I got a shot in my knee on Wednesday so by this morning I was pain free. And you know me I just had to go and push the limits so I went to Bastrop to do the 5K volkswalk. I left here at 6:30, got out to the car and realized I left my event books on the table. Back out of the car and up to the house, door is locked. Dang. Back to the car, get the keys, back to the house. Well I think I will change my pants. Get rid of sweatpants, put on jeans. Out the door and hit the road. About a mile outside of Bastrop I realized I left my pedometer and sunglasses on the table when I went back in to change. So now I decide to be like and go find a Wal-Mart. There must be a Wal-Mart in Bastrop, right. Well, yes but you can't get there from here. Up and down the dang highway until I finally found the right exit. Walk all over the store, found the pedometers, find my way back to the park. Great, on a roll, go in and register, start on up the road. 10 minutes later I realize I'm on the wrong road. And I left the pedometer and sunglasses I just bought in the car. Walk back to car, get glasses, put pedometer on, check map and off we go again. Now I am walking merrily along. Beautiful day, perfect temps, enjoying my music and my solitude. Easy walk. well it was easy because it was downhill. Uh OH says I. If this is downhill, then there must be an uphill coming along. OH MY GOD. Didn't know I could be that shade of purple and live! Made it to the top in 1 hour and was blessedly informed that the second half was really downhill all the way. So I start out again and realize that walking down that steep a hill is murder on the knees. Oh and by the way if you drop your water bottle it will roll for 1000 feet before dropping off into a ravine. I made better time without it anyway and I was having such a good time I didn't even curse when I had to climb the 25 steps up out of the campground. At last I made it back to the start and got stamped and headed for home. So now I am tired and sore but proud for not staying in bed this morning. Guest guest
Well, it's not just exercise it's supposed to be fun. I remember telling myself that going up those steps. " this is fun!, this is fun???? The steps were cut into the embankment to make it easier to get up and man they were so steep. I don't have pictures of the steps but we took some when we were there a couple of weeks ago when we got lost.
