Guest guest
I was curious about why doctors often tell myo patients not to drive for 2 weeks or so after their surgery. I looked in the archives, and saw that someone speculated that it's because the patient's abdominal muscles need that much time to heal, and we use our abdominal muscles a lot while driving. I've been hoping to do some machine sewing during my leave from work (my surgery was a week ago). But it seems like the motion of pushing down the sewing machine pedal would be similar to the motion of pushing down a gas pedal or brake on the car. Right now, my abdominal muscles feel fine, so I'm inclined to try the sewing and see how it feels. (I'll take my doc's advice and wait a week before I drive again.) I'd be interested in any thoughts or suggestions anyone has about driving and/or sewing after a myo. Cheryl
