My little monster

Greetings Ladies

Well, I just got back from seeing Dr Toni sey in Pasadena.

I waited 1 1/2 months to see her and it was worth it. What a

difference from the doctor I saw in October (who recommended

a hysterectomy asap, did no follow up tests, wrote a false blood

pressure on my records, and gave me no other options but a

hysterectomy)

Dr sey started with an ultrasound that revealed an 8.5 cm

fibroid. (and several smaller ones) She didn't even have to point

it out on the screen-- I couldn't miss it. Because of the size and

position of the thing, I am not a candidate for any type of

laproscopic surgery.

She also told me that a myomectomy was not an option for me

because of the position of my fibroid. She talked about the

reconstruction that I would need and possible problems with my

bowels after the surgery.

My options are :

1--waiting and watching to see if it stops growing or shrinks on

it's own. She suggested a biopsy if I chose this option though,

just to make sure nothing cancerous is in there with the

monster.

2--a hysterectomy. She didn't try to push me into this option

though by suggesting that if I didn't hurry I would need a vertical

cut like the first doctor did.

3--UFE

She also had a cbc done to determine how anemic I am. ( I

think the iron pills have brought it back up)

I have another appointment with her in 6 weeks and have to give

her my choice then. She was pleased when I told her that I had

done some research and joined this group and urged me to

continue, and to ask for advice here.

So, I have 6 weeks to decide what I am going to do.

Any advice, feedback you could give me would be greatly

appreciated.
