Guest guest
Right on, Kathleen !!!!!! Yes, ~ I definitely DO hope you get this straightened out with your boss !!!!!!!!! Don't you work in a hospital ?? They should know how important it is to feel good about yourself !!!!! Especially when treating patients !!!!!! AND TOPS is as impt as college ( or a dr's appt !!!!!). Kathleen ~ I don't see how Karla's principal can demand certain teachers stay late to tutor kids !!!!!!! When I taught, they asked for volunteers !!!!!! Teachers don't get paid enough as it is ~ and then they add on more !!!!!!!!! I know schools are getting the students for MORE TAKS ~ but it's not fair to the teachers nor the kids !!!!!!!! And they talk about less paperwork and stress ???????!!!!!!!!!!!! There IS too much pressure put on students and teachers now-a-days when it's NOT worth the stress !!!!!!!!! (From a former teacher !!!!!!!) Hugs, Randie RE: roll call/thursday , I hope you can explain it to your boss so that he/she understands and also gives you consideration like he/she is giving the other people for college attendance. I feel like TOPS is every bit as important to me as a doctor's appointment when I have a sore throat or fever. We all know what obesity does to a person's body and that isn't good. If y'all remember Karla on this list a while back, she is having trouble getting to TOPS also. She's a school teacher and the principal demands certain teachers (Karla is one) tutor kids after school on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays. They have to stay until 4:30 right now, but she said they will have to stay until 5:30 soon! Our weigh-ins start at 5:30, it takes her nearly an hour to drive to our meeting place from school and she is standing in as weight recorder right now. If she has to stay until 5:30, she won't even get to the meeting until 15 minutes before it's over. There is no one else yet that can help with the weigh-ins...except me...and I can't do everything! I'm the leader and I already set up the room, the scales, meet and greet the visitors, etc. but I'm getting help with that now from some of the new members. I'm rambling now. What I mean is...I hope everyone gets the proper consideration due them in scheduling for such an important "thing" as a TOPS meeting! Don't let anyone make you feel it isn't as important as what someone else is doing. We tend to put others ahead of ourselves, but TOPS ***IS*** important!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I'm sorry that thoughtless person said what they did. Thoughtless and rude!Kathleen
