Guest guest
Laurie, wow, thanks for that information!! I might give the neuro who did the test a call on Monday and see what he thinks and if he'll consider talking to my Neuro about testing WITH excercise. My question to the list members: Was your EMG abnormal with or without excercise? Thanks again Laurie! ~Kathy~
Guest guest
Kathy I had 4 muscle biopsies which showed some things that might indicate another disease. If you have a muscle biopsy, make sure they are doing all the tests. A lab will only do what is prescribed. If it is only a frozen electron microscope test then mito can be missed. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Sat, 28 Aug 2004 13:06:47 -0000 > To: > Subject: EMG with Excercise > > > Laurie, wow, thanks for that information!! > > I might give the neuro who did the test a call on Monday and see > what he thinks and if he'll consider talking to my Neuro about > testing WITH excercise. > > My question to the list members: Was your EMG abnormal with or > without excercise? > > Thanks again Laurie! > > ~Kathy~ > > > > Medical advice, information, opinions, data and statements contained herein > are not necessarily those of the list moderators. Guest guest
--- Hi kathy, I wanted to let you know that my first EMG was normal. After that I fought for two years and told them something was wrong with my muscles and it was not in my head. I finally had another EMg done. I was told by several Drs. that the person who performs the EMG can make a big diffence. It is a science. I was then sent to one of the best. My may have been abnormal because my symptoms were quiet or because of the Dr performing the test> I do not want to place blame. I did exercise the day before the second biopsy. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Dawn, Yes, it helps. Everything that everyone has said here helps me tremendously. The dr. who performed the EMG was a muscle specialist, so I hope that eliminates that variable. I'm sorry you had to wait so long. Hopefully, after years and years of 'weird' undiagnosable symptoms, it'll all come together. Seems like part of the problem is that one goes to the gastro dr for stomach problems, the neuro for muscle problems, the endo for other problems, and no one puts ALL the pieces together. Maybe it's our fault too, not intentionally of course, but what we 'report' to our doctors. I mean it would sound silly to tell my neuro that a year ago I was vomitting every two weeks for two months, like clockwork. All those 'little' things that came and went, or hung around....Now,I'm tellin' it all! Thanks for your reply Dawn. ~Kathy~ > > > > Laurie, wow, thanks for that information!! > > > > I might give the neuro who did the test a call on Monday and see > > what he thinks and if he'll consider talking to my Neuro about > > testing WITH excercise. > > > > My question to the list members: Was your EMG abnormal with or > > without excercise? > > > > Thanks again Laurie! > > > > ~Kathy~
