To those of you who've been following us...

n had an apt Friday, after 4 weeks in the band total...he grew

another 5mm in 2 weeks (!!!) which even shocked the ortho, and his

asymmetry on level 2 and 3 of the head slices is negligible - I'm

talking 1.5mm (wow!). He still is above " normal " at level one, the

skull base type area...which I've always noticed the most, but he's

shown great improvement there too. His brachy numbers were mid 90s

when we started repo'ing (2 months)....89-92% at 4 months, 87% when

we started the band 4 weeks ago (at almost 6 months), and now 84-

85%. Basically the ortho said we could graduate to overnight wear

if we want because his head is technically pretty much normal now -

I'd still like to get the CR down another few % if we can, and I

definitely want him to wear the helmet at bed until he outgrows it.

I do worry since he is still a die-hard back sleeper. I'm waiting

for that baby who prefers tummy sleeping...??? He throws both arms

to the sides and lays flat on the back of his head and looks like

he's in heaven - all night. Yes, I watch this - on the video

monitor - lol (thank GOD for no more overnight repo this past

month). I'm hoping he can wear the band overnight for at least 3

more months to get him close to 10 months, as I am so afraid of

regression, and overnight repo is a joke at this point for him.

Does anyone know the average lifespan of a helmet for a baby who

started around 6 months? The ortho estimated 3 more months use, but

of course we all know it depends on his growth (which up to now, has

been fast and furious, and his head is already approx 270mm. From

what I understand this is large for his age)

n, 2-5.5 months repo, Starband 1.12.07
