Guest guest
I just wanted to thank all of you who responded to my emails. All of the information I received was very helpful. Ashton has now had his StarBand for almost 3 weeks and is doing great! He is able to sleep fine in his crib without any additional support for his head/neck. Lots of people told me that babies do get used to wearing the helmet and they were right...it just takes time. Alona Ashton (8 Months) >> Hi! My 7 month old son just got his starband helmet on Monday. He > doesn't seem to mind it at all during the day, but whenever we put him > down for a nap or at night for bedtime he manages only to sleep for > about half an hour and then wakes up crying hysterically. We went to > see the doctor yesterday and he seemed surprised when I told him > Ashton is unable to sleep with it on and just suggested keeping his > bedroom a little cooler. The doctor also shaved out the areas on the > helmet where we had noticed Ashton's head getting red. We turned the > central air on last night and also put a fan in his bedroom to help > keep it cooler, but he still wasn't able to stay asleep. We managed to > get him to sleep on four seperate occasions last night and each time > he awoke within half an hour screaming. Finally I decided to just > remove the helmet and he was able to fall asleep within minutes and > slept for 7 straight hours.
