I am the one whose son was allergic to the foam, Pelite, in the STAR

Band. Orthomerica replaced it for free! I would have never gotten

this resolved so quickly had it not been for someone on this board!

Thank you so much! Now the helmet is made out of Aliplast. In my

opinion, all STAR Bands should be made of this foam. It is so much

better! It is a little softer, so the lining is definetely thicker,

but so much better. It doesn't hold odor NEAR as bad as the original

STAR Band. The foam is just a little cushier and I haven't had any

red spots. It's not too cushy to where it doesn't provide the needed

firmness mind you, it's seirously just awesome. I wish everyone could

have it! I imagine it to be more expensive. ANYWAY! We've been in

it for 2 weeks this Friday and is finally sleeping with it on

through the night. Thank God. I almost lost composure those

sleepless nights! Hadn't had them in such awhile it was quite a

shock! I swear I notice a huge difference already. Within the first

week of him wearing it. Anyone else notice a difference that fast?

I'm guessing this won't take 4 months, so I am way excited. It's

actually so much better I'd be happy with what we have, but I'd like

to keep going and acheive optimal correction. We go back Monday for

the first official measurments, I'm hoping to see their surprise too!

Among being allergic to the helmet, we've recently been to a

pediatric allergist to find he is allergic to wheat, egg, milk,

pea/tree nuts. What a problem child, huh?! Oh we love him all the

same! But life sure gets a little rocky sometimes! Luckily we're on

babyfood and he can eat straight up veggies and fruits. Wish me luck

from here!

I am glad to hear that you got a new STARband that everything is going well for . I noticed improvment within a week of my daughter wearing her STARband too, how old is ? Keep us updated with how everything is going and with anymore questions you may have.

Thanks for posting this - Chase gets his STARband on the 22nd and since he has contact dermatitis and severe eczema (mostly on his scalp - oh joy), we're very concerned about a possible reaction to the foam. Now I have something to go on should this happen to us as well.
