Guest guest
I had a phone call from Fremont today but they called my home phone which is my evening phone. What happens if I miss the call? I called and left a message but will they pass me up? they left no message. My caller ID said Kaiser and it had the # AUGGGHHHH All I want is an orientation date!!!!!!!1 Helpf if this has happened to anyone else. > > Oh, Adrienne -- I feel so bad for you! However, you said you are feeling a little better now, and I bet it will just get better. Once you get through this, you WILL be happy you had the surgery! I've heard it said " What doesn't kill us makes us stronger " ! Hold on to the love of your dear husband, and the love we all feel for you. (OMG, I'm sitting here at work, crying for your pain while I'm writing this note!) I haven't been where you are, by some stroke of luck, but I do pray that your body heals itself so that you can resume a normal life. Hey, the good thing is, without being able to eat, you'll probably drop lots of pounds! Yeah, I know it's not a fun way to loose weight, but it's something encouraging to think about. Hang in there. I'll be watching the message board to see your post when you tell us how much better you have gotten. --Sandi H. (5 ft 1 inch tall and 50 years old) I live in Citrus Heights (Sacramento County) Dr. Leo – San Diego (Thru Kaiser) 315 at orientation (May '03) 285 at 3 pre-op appointments in San Diego (August 4, 2003) 252 at surgery (6/03/04) Last weighed at 186 (03/12/2005) Hopefully someday below 140 (yeah, I hope before Oct. 2nd when my daughter gets married!) sandiantoytrain @ yahoo . com > Well, I went back to Scripps last Saturday after I called Pacific Bariatrics and told them that I couldn't keep anything down. They wanted me to be rehydrated because my tube was most probably swollen and not letting anything in. > > I spent three pretty miserable days back in the hospital. I don't have great veins to begin with, but this time it was extra hard to find them for the iv and lab work. They had to change the iv line three times and my arms were quite swollen but I got through it all. The worst part was the potassium that they had to inject which was incredibly painful. > > I came home on Tuesday and haven't really felt much better until this morning. I am starting to get down a few things but I'm still very nauseous. What worries me the most is that any of the protein powders I have tried are making me sick to my stomach. I haven't tried Isopure yet, so I think I'll give that a try next. > > The hardest thing for me has been my frame of mind. Right now I am so sorry that I had this surgery. I feel like I'll be the only person who this doesn't work for. I don't feel like I'll ever stop feeling sick to my stomach or that I'll ever be able to put a piece of real food into my mouth again. My husband has been incredibly supportive but it's very hard. > > But...I'll just keep on keeping on...one day at a time. > > Adrienne in Riverside > Open RNY: 2/25/05 > Dr. Leo in San Diego > 274/256 (3/4)/120??? Guest guest
I had hang-ups today too. Maybe they called me and I missed also. > I had a phone call from Fremont today but they called my home phone which is my evening phone. What happens if I miss the call? Guest guest
That's why I give the doctors my cell phone number for contacting me, 24 hours a day! In the evening, I can set my cell phone to call forward (that is ring at) my home phone, so I never miss a call. (Well, almost never. If I'm in a " dark spot " where my cell phone doesn't get reception, the call goes to voice mail, and that always seems to be when I'm waiting for my PCP to call me back! UGH!) But most of the time I get my important calls. That's why I got the cell phone, to be contacted by doctors, first when my parents were sick, and now for my own personal calls during the day. --Sandi H. > > I had a phone call from Fremont today but they called my home phone > which is my evening phone. Guest guest
Ya know that happened with me and Richmond Kaiser. Someone on here told me to keep calling till I got a live person, and I did!!! Thank gawd too. The woman who called me on Thursday wasnt going to be back till the 22nd. So I would have waited till then. But, I kept calling and calling and going through all the options till someone answered. And she was nice enough to schedule the orientation for me.. So as of Monday, I would just keep calling! > > > I had a phone call from Fremont today but they called my home > > phone which is my evening phone.
