Guest guest Posted January 15, 2004 Report Share Posted January 15, 2004 I too have tinnitus and when I get my ringing my hearing actually blocks out and I cannot hear until the ringing goes away (luckily it doesn't usually last too long and it fades in and fades out). My family seem to have eardrum problems in that my Mum had perforated ear drums and was partially deaf as was her Dad (my Mum and her Dad both ended up having artificial eardrums put in (in one ear at least) to increase there hearing) and I have burst my eardrums about 4-5 times already. So I wonder if my tinnitus etc could be cause byt his. I haven't had my hearing tested for ages and when it was tested last time I had a hearing defect in the 1000Htz range (I basically couldn't hear it in at least one ear). I know I need to get my hearing tested but I simply can't afford this on top of all of my other medical bills and prescriptions and things. My Osteo does do some cranial work on me as he says that my " head is all screwed up " (after falling my skull once) and asked my about head injuries (of which I have had a few minor and a couple of pretty big ones (with NO brain damage thank goodness but with some pretty nasty cases of concussion, purfeorated eardrums and whiplash or migraine headaches (once lasting for 12 days straight))). Like Mike said in an earlier post about " walking into walls " I do this a LOT and don't QUITE make it through door ways and trip over shadows on the carpet/ground (litterally), my proprioception is SHOCKING and my posture is totally out of wack (my pelvis is shocking and so out of whack (tilted) that i have a swayback and leg/hip/back problems) but as I dislocated it and it was never picked up or relocated i doublt there is anythign they can do now after 20 years, when i sit or stand or lie (with my eyes closed) I believe I am straight but I am not I am twisted and bend to one side). Anyway off subject OOPS. I think I am either my Osteopaths worse nightmare or his best dream client (as I always come back as I ALWAYS seem to have a new injury etc). Mike: Not necessarily true about not being able to do anything after 20 years. That is one of the really great aspects of things like cranialsacral and myofascial release work. It is very common to have a long term, chronic problem suddenly get resolved with some of this work. You said that your Osteo has done some cranial work on you. Have you ever had a full body cranialsacral session done? This works it from the sacrum to the cranium. I absolutely loved that car. It had leather seats and every bell and whistle known to God or man. It was pure pleasure and a little bit of heaven on earth to drive. And it was straight out of a King novel when it came to repair bills. It did things like blow the automatic hydraulic suspension (to the tune of over $1000 in repair costs) at exactly 110 miles past the warranty expiration. And all mechanical parts were completely interchangeable with Ford parts. The only two differences were that the Lincoln parts had an " L " prefix instead of an " F " prefix in the parts code ... and the L instead of F meant a price that was exactly four times higher. I know this to be true because my mechanic showed me the order books. It got so bad after awhile that my mechanic used to say " I thank you; my kid in college thanks you " when I would take it in for service work. At one point he threatened to charge me rent because it was in his possession more often than it was in mine. Thanks for the memories!
