Guest guest
A lot of pede's don't support banding but I have never > heard it taken to the extreme of calling it cruel and unusual > punishment. That statement is representative of the attitude in this region. Sad. That's why, as a Colorado parent, I continue to watch this board and hope I can help at least a couple people. I had 1 pediatrician swear up and down, and adamantly and aggressively tell me that banding does not work. When I begged him to present me with the research, or factual, documented information that supported his statement, he couldn't. I've since provided that practice, at their request, with all the information documenting our success. The entire practice now supports parents who want to treat plagio. I also have a close friend with a 2 year old with untreated plagio, and my 4 year old has a classmate with untreated plagio. It's obvious. My daughter's plagio was severe, and the dramatic difference in regular pictures taken before and after her treatment is striking. The improvement makes it even easier to see how bad it really was. I fully respect everyone's personal decision to pursue treatment or not. I struggle with the lack of information available in this region. The result is that parents are led to make an uninformed decision, rather than being able to make an open-minded decision about what is best for their baby. That can only be accomplished when armed with all the facts. Tammy
