Hi I have been on Colchicine for two years plus. Have had no side effects that I can say are caused by it, My Doc said if it might help take it. Can't say it is helping but I am still here so that is a good sign LOLColchicum extract was first described as a treatment for gout in De Materia Medica by Padanius Dioscorides in the first century CE P PM (Polymositis) 12/98, UIP 8/00, o2 24/7 9 LPM 8/04, PH 3/06, ILL yo 60Subject: Re: NSIP & IPFTo: Breathe-Support Date: Thursday, August 14, 2008, 7:00 PM

Irene,

A friend had heard that Remicade was being used to treat

Dermatomyositis. Although experimental, it is thought to help. I was

told it was more for people with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am being

treated with Imuran and Prednisone for Dermatomyositis and NSIP.

Since the Prednisone wasn't working as desired they added Imuran. Now

my pulmonologist wants to add Colchicine. Colchicine is usually given

to people with Gout but showed to be of some help for people with lung

diseases. I'm thinking of sticking with the Prednisone/Imuran

treatment until I can research this more. I definitely don't need

anymore side effects.

Thanks for your help,
