Guest guest
I'm home. Dr. Cohen came in yesterday morning(Thurs) and released me. I'm on strictly a Boost plus diet of 5 cans daily. If I'm able to keep up with this regiment I won't have to get the NJ tube. Dr. Cohen isn't concerned at all about how much I weigh just that I'm nutritionally healthy. He said there are mito patients who are below the threshold and they wither and die and so he is trying to get me back above that threshold where I could do better again. I'm just taking it one day at a time. Dr. Cohen really wants me at the UMDF Conference so thats my focus right now. I've got 2 wks to get some strength. We had to wait until mid. afternoon to get a flight home as the Ped's resident didn't come to sign the orders and write my scripts. I'm having alot of pain and just in general really lethargic and worn out from everything. I can't express how much your prayers, cards, phone calls, thoughts and gifts meant to me. I couldn't have done it without all of your support.
Guest guest
It's wonderful to know you are home and hear your " voice " again on Mitoldies. Praying the Boost Plus will work and that you can gain strength. I'm sure the UMDF conference would be a great experience if you are up to it. Even if it seems impossible now, in two weeks, you never know... A friend who has been sending me cards and notes for years sent a really cool one this week. It's from Alice in Wonderland: " One CAN'T believe impossible things! " said Alice. " I dare say you haven't had much practice, " said the Queen. " When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I'd believe as many as six impossible things before breakfast. " Barbara > I'm home.
