Hi --

I am new to this group and am hoping to find some answers to the

many questions I have. I was diagnosed with Hashimotos a few months

ago. My doc put me on Levothyroxine. I have to say that I am

feeling much better than I was before however I am having new

symptoms that I think may be caused by the meds but I'm not sure.

First my cholestrol level has gone up about 13 points in a few

weeks. My blood pressure has gone up. I started growing fine, thin,

blonde fuzzy type hair all over my face, under my breasts and top of

thighs. When I brought this up to my endo he said I could be pre-

diabetic. I took the glucose test on Monday....didn't get results

yet, but I did see the reading for the fasting part of the test --

111 -- which would indicate pre-diabetes (and I am EXTREMELY thirsty

all the time). I have also developed sleep apnea.

I did not have these problems prior to taking the Levothyroxine and

find it hard to believe that all these problems suddenly popped up,

yet my endo says it is not the cause. Am I now missing some other

hormone or getting too much of something to cause all this? Or am I

not being treated fully for the hypo? Would Armour help me?

Chris
