Hi Kathy,

Yep, I take 3 grains of Armour.

Been taking it for about a year and a half, but I have been on thyroid meds

for 20 years.

I started out on Armour 20 years ago - my first Dr.,an osteopath, quickly

upped my dose to

3 grains - I was doing great. He retired 2 years later. The new Dr. switched

me immediately to

Synthroid and everything went to pot until I finally got tired of going from

Dr. to Dr. begging for

Armour and took things into my own hands.

You are right that low thyroid causes The " brain fog " too! It is often the

real culprit in

learning disabilities, memory loss, etc.

I know what you mean about taking it slow and not going off of too many meds

at once - I know

if I stopped everything at once I would have a total " come-a-part " , lol, and

that would set me back

years! I realize from reading the post on this list that there are still

alot of things I have not looked

at such as iron etc. The only thing I have ever had checked is just the

regular thyroid and blood

test - except the Osteopath did do a yeast count years ago and found it was

way too high, which

also causes brain fog, come to think of it.

I live by my stove timer, because it has the alarm. I use it for everything,

not only cooking. I know I

won't remember to come back to something, so I just set the timer on the

stove and it alarms to remind

me!

How to pronounce my name....hummmm, let me see....It's Mikrah, the emphasis

is on the Mik it's

pronounced Mic as in Mickey and the rah as in " rah-rah-rah for the home

team " . LOL, that's the only way I

can think of to explain it. Anyway I'm glad you like it.

Keep me posted on how the Armour is battling the brain fog. I'm bettin on

the Armour! :)

Hi Mikrah,

I really believe that it is from being Hypot that is

causing my brain fog. Menopause can cause this too, as it did me, but I am

through that stage of my life. Went through Menopause in my late 30's to

early 40's and now I don't have " monthly's " !! :-)) However, I still get

those nasty hot flashes everytime I stop my HRT.

Anyway, I will soon find out as I don't want to go off of HRT until I have

Armour in my system. Besides, if I do go off to many meds at once, I will

not know which ones help and which ones don't. I also take something for my

high blood pressure. I hope to get that down when I am on Armour too!! It

will take time, but after many years of suffering, I will welcome something

that I know is going to work. :-))

I know exactly what you mean though. If I put water on the stove for tea

and then get on the computer or phone, I will have a dry, burnt pan! LOL

Also, seems like my memory kicks in eventually, but it's usually hours

behind or the next day. I just remembered that it was the scarecrow that

needed a brain!! Well, I think this is right, been a long time since I seen

the movie. LOL I thought of this hours after I posted!!

Have you started Armour yet? Keep me posted!

Kathy PS Love your name, how do you pronounce it?

Re: * MyRxForLess went poof - Mikrah

I was able to get off Premarin with using a combo of Progesterone cream

and Oestrogel.. But I have no Osteoporosis, far from it! Weird as I had an

early hysterectomy (I was 27)and have been on thyroid meds for 30 years.

Premarin was part of what was killing me 6 years ago when I was listening

to

doctors! I needed it as I had VERY strong hot flashes and night sweats and

horrid mood swings that I couldn't stand, but I wish I had tried the

creams

long ago. The tests that made doctors think Osteo was made worse by

thyroid

meds were done with Synthroid! Armour with it's calcitonin is another

thing

entirely and no tests have been done with it optimized and bone density

that

I know of. The other NATURAL thyroids have Calcitonin as well and in

animals

it has been found to control calcium loss, so I really feel it would in

humans as well. You would need to dissolve the natural thyroid meds in

your

mouth though to get the best results from the Calcitonin in the thyroid

meds

as I! believe stomach acids destroy it.
