Guest guest
Good Evening Everyone, I want to take a minute to thank everyone for their warm welcome and their help with my questions. I've been amazed the last few days reading some of the postings. Everyone is incredibly supportive and helpful, I think this is just what I needed. As I said my mother has RSD and has had it for a little over 2 years. I'm an only child and very close to both my parents so I'm trying to find out as much as I possibly can in order to understand what she is going through, although I don't think that is possible, and help her as much as I can. We're from Missouri, I live in Jefferson City and my parents live in a small town about 20 miles from here. Mom currently goes to PT three times a week and her dr is trying different medications to see what will work best. If you have any suggestions, stories, etc that you think might help I would love to hear them. Right now the meds. are affecting her memory, concentration, and her state of mind. I would like to see them changed to something that has less side effects if at all possible. She's taking: neurontin, gabatril, methodone, percocet, effexor, elavil, ambien, and a couple others I can't even think of at the moment. Is this a little much? Thanks again and I look forward to getting to know you all better, Melinda
Guest guest
If I haven't already said it, watch your mother carefully for depression. It is so easy to have problems with that when your lifestyle is being changed in several ways. And yes, the medication has a tendency to affect the memory, etc.! We do have to take several types of meds. I am on 3 different types of anti-depressants since I've had some problems with major depression this year. Also take Neurontin and Ultram for pain.
