On these tests with the apple, when are people starting their testing, 15 min after the first bite or after the last bite? sky
Guest guest
I tested then ate the apple. Then set the timer for 15 minutes and thereafter tested every 15 minutes for 2-1/2 hours. BTW, , you said you had no other type 1's testing I thought did a test. She's LADA like me, type 1. Are we supposed to be eating just 125 grams of apple or was it to just provide the weight of the apple we ate? sky

Guest guest
Oops, forgot to post my apple results. I used exactly 125 grams of cored macoun apple, took me about 4 minutes to eat it. Starting BG 113 I tested every 15 mintues for two hours then every half hour after that: 8:05 113 8:20 130 8:35 139 8:50 149 9:05 146 (?) 9:20 149 9:35 160 9:50 170 10:20 155 10:50 142 11:20 135 11:50 130 12:20 126 End of experiment, bolused 1.6 units of insulin to get me down to 110 before bed. Thanks, Stacey, I received them in good time and the graph looks good. I'll be in touch with you when I get all the results assembled. At this early stage of analysis the truth of the YMMV rule is evident, but there are also some useful generalities. Cheers,
