Guest guest
I did the first round of testing last week and am waiting the results, but I sure would like to know about this type of disorder. Could you direct me to some articles or sites that would be good. Also, can anyone achieve a so-called " remission " with a mitochondrial disorder? Guest guest
The first two I would hit would be umdf.org and mda.org. Some of us have very slowly progressing symptoms while taking the mito " cocktail " and others more quick. There is no way to know how a person is going to progress, even within the same family. artistdi88 wrote: >I did the first round of testing last week and am waiting the results, >but I sure would like to know about this type of disorder. Guest guest
Di My son is one of the lucky ones who has fewer symptoms today than he had at an early age. He had tremendous problems with autonomic symptoms, sensory issues, and severe migraines and a few other things thrown in. He was most symptomatic as a baby and young child. He is now 30 and has some exercise intolerance and still has some sensory issues and return of migraines which are being easily treated. He is not on the mito cocktail, but eats healthy and gets pleanty of sleep. He knows that his symptoms will probably increase with age, but it really isn't much of an issue at all for him. I guess you would call it a remission. My symptoms have pregressed very slowly since being on the mito cocktail. I try to eat healthy (try is the key since I just got back from having an ice cream sundae). laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Sun, 18 Jul 2004 16:12:31 -0000 > To: > Subject: RE: New: suggestions for sites and articles > > I did the first round of testing last week and am waiting the results, > but I sure would like to know about this type of disorder.
