Guest guest
Hi guys, Just wanted to let yall know my parents are changing internet services in the next week- so this wont be my email addy for much longer. Other than that- been having a rough time still- my GI symptoms continue to worsen alot with alot of fatigue/weakness, more shortness of breath and so on. I'm seeing a new PT and she is willing to help alot. She thinks I would definitely benefit from a scooter or a WC- Im actually renting a manual WC this weekend for a month. She says the only problem with a scooter is that they are so heavy and since I dont have a van- it would be pretty hard to get out and about with it. I thought there were some lighter ones out there that collapsed- was hoping to find out what you all thought would be best. I just no longer can walk most days for long at all. Its scary how I feel I have progressed in just these past 2-3 months. Oh, the PT also feels I need AFO's. I hadnt even thought of that though- she seems to think my left side is pretty weak especially and it is possible that my SLEs are causing permanent affects (this just came up recently also with some of my other drs.) I had always thought the SLE's were just temporary things but I guess recently they are causing more problems. I had been feeling ok for a few days last wk and was hoping that that was from the new additions to the mito cocktail and upping the dose of carnitor but now I feel like I'm below were I felt before then. I had an absess in my tooth and root canal the other day and I think the infection has traveled elsewhere in my body- if I continue feeling this way- going to call Dr. Gropman and see what she says. Anyways, just thought I would update you all and let you know of my changing services- I will post my new email addy when I get it. Hope you all are doing ok, my thoughts and prayers are always with you all. take care, Adrienne
Guest guest
Adrienne There are collapsible scooters out there that are lightweight, but not all insurances will pay for them. They aren't very good on rough ground like a yard and don't usually last as long. They also have a much lower weight restriction. You can look at the following web sites: www.pridemobility.com (They make the Go-go and the heaviest piece is 30 lbs.) www.bruno.com (They make the Travel Scooter) There are many others, but this might get you started in looking at them. I'm glad you are going to try to use a manual chair, because you might find that wheeling it yourself is more than you can handle, unless you are going to be pushed. Be sure to try it on rough ground if you are going to use it that way. A word on the AFO, it needs to be very light or it becomes more of a problem than a help. You don't need a lot of extra weight to move. I hope this helps in the decision process. laurie > From: moonchild62579@... > Reply-To: > Date: Thu, 15 Jul 2004 01:04:22 EDT > To: > Subject: changing internet services, update > > Hi guys, > Just wanted to let yall know my parents are changing internet services in the > next week- so this wont be my email addy for much longer.
