Do you really have to take the Oxycontin twice a day or can you get bye

yaking it once a day?

Thanks, S.

Hi ,

I know exactly how you feel. I was terrified of what would happen , of

becoming addicted, dependent or whatever policitically correct word you choose

to

use. I was afraid of the side effects, what others would say, of someone

breaking into my house to get it, of where I would go when I needed more pain

relief

after becoming tolerant of the oxy. You need it and I was worried about it!!

Do I sound like a worry wart? YOU BET!!

I don't know if I would have ever taken the plunge if it hadn't been for the

agony I was in when I went to spend a week inpatient at NIH and met the most

caring, compassionate folks in the pain and palliative care unit there.

I know I can say little to calm your fears except to say that you don't have

to continue with it if it doesn't work for you or you have unpleasant side

effects. I can say that I don't even know I am on it except for the pain relief.

Maybe it is contributing to my fatigue but there are so many suspects for that

honor!

is right on the money about trying to make a 12 hour drug last for 24

hours. You would be very miserable.

If you want to talk about any more or have any more questions that I can help

you with, please feel free to contact me.

I know it is a huge decision. I'm glad you are asking the questions though

and sharing your concerns with someone. Don't sit there alone with them.

Good luck and let us know if we can help.
