Guest guest
I'm sad to report that Phil Cuckson from England passed away on Tuesday at home. Note that his wife n is no longer subscribed, you can address her directly at pcuckson@... Guest guest
I just discovered Phil had been on this list probably longer than any of us, possibly even longer than Don Summers. It's good to have the archives so no one's contribution will be forgotten. Here are a few of Phil's posts. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shydrager/message/3256 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shydrager/message/4724 http://groups.yahoo.com/group/shydrager/message/5341 Hugs, Pam _______________________________________________________
Guest guest
Pam, I have been on since March 1999 but many including you, the two Barbs ) (that sounds thorny), Anne, Annette, Becky, Charmayne and Don have been on longer. I don't want to leave anyone out, but there were only about 60 of us at that time. But remember that was before e-groups. Note: Jeff still has the pre-egroups archives in a readable format, but it would take some work to get them into a format that we could search readily. I am not sure if Phil was on before I came on the list. Take care, Bill and Charlotte Pam Bower wrote: > I just discovered Phil had been on this list probably > longer than any of us, possibly even longer than Don > Summers. > > It's good to have the archives so no one's > contribution will be forgotten. Guest guest
Hi: I am sorry to hear about Phil's death. He has been on as long as us or longer and we have been on since January 1996. There we 86 of us, I believe, at that time. I do not know if Don was on at that time because he was really busy taking care of Gwen. However, Don was very active with the Shy-Drager support and was helping Sylvia Dickinson from Vanderbilt at the convention in Montreal October of 1996. So sad to lose so many old timers to the group. Hopefully in the near future something will be found to stop its progression until a cure is found or a cure is found first. Guest guest
I too have very fond memories of Phil Cuckson. He responded personally to several of my questions when I first joined the list. I had been given Sylvia's telephone number to call for advice about whether I could take Ken home from the Nursing home. That was in October, 1996. Sylvia responded with a big sigh and "Oh dear!" and asked if she could add my name to this list. The rest is history. We did take ken home, and with the help of all of you, we were able to keep him home until his death. Love, Barbara
Guest guest
I read in one of Phil's posts yesterday that he had signed on the Vanderbilt list in 1995 about 2 weeks after it started up. I believe before that that there were several people, including Sylvia Dickson, who were corresponding on the Parkinsn list. I think I first subscribed around the summer of 1995.
