Guest guest
Hi! I'm new to the group. My 18 month old daughter was just diagnosed with hydrocephalus and Chiari in April. She just got a shunt two weeks ago. Is there any chance of the shunt taking care of the Chiari problem? Also, what are her chances for eventually walking? Currently, she can sit by herself a little, but she is wobbly. In physical therapy, they have been trying to strengthen her upper spine by having her push up from her tummy, but she cries when they try that. I assume from what I have read recently that this could be very painful. We are supposed to see the neurosurgeon again at the end of the month, and I want to be as prepared as possible to ask questions about his plans for my daughter's treatment. Any suggestions you have would be great! Thank you, Chris
