Wondering about the severity assessment

Hi,

I was wondering. What does the score have to be for the docs to decide

on a band or helmut. I am seeing my regular peditrician for her to

look at my son. But I am looking at the plagio assessment from cran

tech and wonder if there is a score the child has to get in order to

be considered for treatment. His ears are misaligned and the plagio

from the pictures looks like between 1 and 2 I guess that would be

mild to moderate. I dont' know. Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,

Hi there, unfortunately all peds are different and it will depend on

what their opinion is. We had our ped say it wasn't that bad and then

the plastic surgeon say moderate to severe then a Neurosurgeon say

mild, then another Neurosurgeon say Moderate to severe and now Cranial

tech says the high side of moderate even after one doc band. I think

that if there is ear or facial involvement a band could be perscribed

and even if there isn't those things involved it could probably still

be perscribed. We had to push for our perscription and I am so glad

we did. Our son got alot of correction from his first doc band and we

are hoping for more with his second.
