Guest guest
Hi , I have peripheral neuropathy (both legs & arms). I had a ct scan done on my spine, another test called neural evoked potential test where responses from the brain are measured during sensory stimulation in both the legs & arms (kinda look like enstein during this one....but no discomfort during it). The doc did the EMG nerve conduction test also that positively showed that I have peripheral neuropathy. After these, I had a slew of blood work done checking many other problems that can cause neuropathy. The CT scan & blood test results were normal and it was then concluded that my uncontrolled blood sugar & diabetes were indeed the cause of the neuropathy. I am currently controlling my blood sugar through lifestyle change.....both diet & exercise. I have gotten into more of a normal range for the most part and I take Elavil before I go to bed at night to help me sleep through the burning in my feet & lower legs. The discomfort is much worse at night when laying down. I have to say it's not as bad the past month or so and I will have another EMG done in March to see if there is any improvement since last June. Hope this helps.
