Hi Carol, If you are only checking your bg's (blood glucose) in the AM (fasting), how are you learning which foods you can eat and cannot. When I was first diagnosed, my educator had me testing before breakfast and after dinner. I did that for awhile, then realized I wasn't seeing a true picture. I had no idea how oatmeal for breakfast, bread for lunch, etc was affecting my bg's. Since my fasting numbers were always less than 100, I started testing fasting about every two weeks. I would test after breakfast and after lunch some days. Other days I would test maybe lunch and dinner. Occasionally, I would test before a meal, but most of the time my bg's are normal before a meal. Once in awhile, I would test 3 times a day. Now, after having diabetes this long and having learned what I can eat and how much, some days I don't test at all, other days I may test once, then occasionally (depending on what I have eaten), I may test 3 times. hugs Eunice
