Guest guest
I was on prednisone for (I'm in process of checking all myrecords) approx 2 years. That is not a good thing but I did get better and eventually became pain free with a minor disability of function at my ankle and foot. Along with the large doses of prednisone I injected myself daily with calcitonin for at least a year. Because it was a slow improvement with countless setbacks to the original level of pain and dysfunction I just don't know what the source of remission was. I am doing some inner work on my overall view of how I've been living my life and how I can adaptto keep it meaningful and fulfilling as I go through this change. How are you managing your daily activities? Would you be willing to describe a typical day for me? Just an aside- I am a Lynda called Lyn and you are () Lin interesting…….. Thankyou, Lyn (Lynda Lorraine) Lyn, I have gone by Lin or doesn't matter to me, I decided to use Lin here because we have Nation and I thought it would be less confusing for people. On Prednisone for 2 years -whew- So I take it you do not experience any long term affects from it, that is good. I have never heard of Calcitonin? What is it's main use. Okay here goes: How my life has changed. Before this I worked full time, went to the gym 4 to 5 mornings a week, I participated in several race walks, averaging 13 minute miles, came home did gardening and helped my husband with weddings, I was actually getting quite good. Now for my daily life. I wake up take morning meds, wait for them to take affect take shower, rest for awhile, then depending on pain, I will do some light housework, laundry, breakfast dishes, not all at once and the with the housework and laundry I don't do the housework, and laundry everyday. Then I will check out the e-mails. Then read, or cross stitch or sleep which is what I am going to soon Does that help you at whatever you are grappling with. this all started June 2003, and has steadily gotten worse. So I consider a level 6 pain is good. I hope you are having a good day,and I hope this makes sense because I keep falling asleep. take care, Lin
