Guest guest
The carnitor also comes in liquid--a wierd cherry flavored. It is not all that bad. 2 teaspoons is equal to 1000 mg. I take that now instead of the tablets. It also comes in injectable form but my gp said that I would be very sore for the amount that would have to be injected. Guest guest
Janet, why do you now take the liquid form of Carnitor and not the tablets? Is there a benefit in taking the liquid or does it really matter. Just wondering, as I take the tablets. Thanks. Clara CJW526@... Guest guest
If you take the liquid Carnitor, it tastes better if you mix it in a juice or other bevarage. I liked it in my apple juice, but it didn't taste so good in orange juice. Keep Smiling, Nikki > The carnitor also comes in liquid--a wierd cherry flavored. Guest guest
Never thought of putting it in apple or orange juice. I supposed the apple juice would be apple cherry juice. Not a bad idea as my son does like apple juice. Because he has mild sumptoms he is doing ok now though on the 250 mg that comes in each of his 3 carniqgel capsules. He does not like orange juice though. Guest guest
Clara, Like Janet (and others), I also take liquid Carnitor. I need 3000- 6000mg/day, which is an awful lot of tablets. I have gastric dysmotility, so liquid is much easier for me to assimilate. The taste is a bit odd, but it's a heck of a lot better than the original formlation (pre-1990), when it was much more concentrated. It tasted like a combination of castor oil, sea water and koolaid. My only problem with the liquid is the sealed childproof caps. I often need help getting those open. Guest guest
Theresa, where do you did the liquid Carnitor? Do you need a doctor’s prescription for it? Thanks. Clara CJW526@... Guest guest
Clara You do need a prescription and then the pharmacist usually has to order it from a supplier that does business with Sigma Tau. The pharmacy then usually keeps it on hand. laurie > > Reply-To: > Date: Sat, 3 Jul 2004 09:32:42 -0700 > To: > > Subject: RE: Computer problems fixed!----CARNITOR > > Theresa, where do you did the liquid Carnitor? Guest guest
Clara, My Walgreens orders it for me. I generally have to give them about a two day notice. They figured out for me to take 1000 mg 4 times a day I need 12 of the little bottles. I think they are 4 oz (they are downstairs). Anyway, it should be on there list of what is available. The second time I got the prescription filled at Walgreens the on pharmacist poured all the little bottles into big dark brown bottles. These were a real pain to deal with. Except as someone else said the child proof caps on the little bottles are a real pain. So, now they have instructions to just give me the little bottles. A couple fit in the door compartment of my refrigerator so one bottle is always cold. I also got the carnitor from the military mail order pharmacy.
