Hi Everyone

Please bear with me for this is my first time with Yahoo groups.

I have Hashi's and I now take Armour. I currently take 3 grains but I took

3.5 before summer. I was running a bit high with my T3 and of course the TSH

was very low. So in order to make my doctor happy and so I didn't have to hear

any speeches I lowered myself voluntarily to 3 gr. again. I felt okay for a

while but I have started to notice around September that I was not feeling

quite as good. My skin is now much drier and cracking whereas before it was

soft

and quite normal. Other things have changed like Blood sugars are now running

higher again and I am NOT losing weight. Not that I am knocking myself out

trying either but its just not ever happening and I think I've gained a bit

since

I reduced my dose.

Anyway I'd like to go back up to 3.5gr but our insurance company has figured

out that the mail order company and local Pharmacy was not charging us what

they wanted. So they upped many Rxs and this being considered non-formulary is

one of them. In January 05 it could go up to $70 for 3 month supply which is

outrageous! Then you have to consider if I take 2 different strengths it will

cost me $140.00!!! I can't afford that.

So what I am wanting to find out from you all is...What do you take? Anyone

take a Natural RX that is not considered NON Formulary? That is cheaper and

works really as well as Armour? Was it hard to Titrate?

I understand that my Insurance would like to give me Thyroid by Qualitest.

But the mg. or Gr. Are different from Armour. I am so not looking forward to the

TSH rollercoaster while trying to get regulated once again. Plus the doctors

are already not excited to prescribe Armour...I can just imagine how excited

they will be about trying to prescribe some other drug NOT PUSHED by

Pharmaceutical Reps! KWIM?

Any suggestions? Thoughts?

T I A,

Debbie
