one for us! and blood in rectum

hey everyone--

this is a little follow up to my post the other day about the new

gross rectal symptoms i've been having...

well i had a minor success today: i actually got the doc at the

student health center here to order me a yeast culture (stool)!

amazing. he definitely tried to write off my request, but i went into

how i'd been mistreated by the ER (they referred me to the GI clinic

only for me to find out that they aren't allowed to do that, have to

refer to FP first....this was only after i continued calling and

harassing them all week). GI clinic kept telling me i couldn't have an

appt. cause i didn't have a referral.

i said " so, there's absolutely no sort of diagnostic testing you can

do for me? "

i told him that i had had similar symptoms before and i went way too

long without a proper diagnosis, which was yeast....and i wanted to at

least rule it out off the bat this time.

so he said he'd send me for a wet prep, and then i requested a

culture, and he called the lab and got it set for me!

over the last years i've had to pay so much out of pocket just to get

docs to do yeast cultures, particularly stool ones. all the " in

network " regular ones i've asked have refused.

ANYWAY, on another note, i went into the bathroom to do the rectal

swab....and when i pulled it out there was a big splotch of blood on

it. i was really surprised. i haven't had any blood leaking out, but

there it was. at least now i have the referral to see the GI doc.

gosh, it seems like we fight and hassle and fight only for another (as

chelle said the other day) USELESS appointment.
