Guest guest
I was having these thoughts just two weeks ago. We are our own advocates - you need to do your part in making sure you are getting proper nutrition. Having been on a protein shake diet before (600 calories/day) - I would say no you are not starving yourself. For one - I think you need to remember DAILY to take your multivitamin, B12, and protein. If you feel you need more or are not feeling well - talk to the nutritionist or doctor. I have seen thin people eat - they eat very little. I think most of my problem is my portion size and quality of food. Once you are able to eat " normal " food...eat quality food (not processed meats, beans and vegetables - whole grains). You get the most nurtrients from these type of foods as opposed to processed. I know sometimes it is difficult, but if you can make a conscious effort in eating well - it will be beneficial to you in the long run. lau328@... wrote: I was just thinking, guess I'm have nervousness about everything, but 20 pounds is a lot to lose in one month. I mean are we starving ourselves? It seems kind of scary to think we could survive off of so little. Makes me kind of scared. Well I haven't had surgery yet. Hoping for 11/30. Has anyone else had these kind of thoughts? Laurie
Guest guest
Another thought........ I would like to put this out there for those that don't have Kaiser, or those that do but have not heard this.......We were told to add B1 to our supplements......The lack of B1 has been found to have impact on balance and memory in post op patients....I have added a B1 to my plan and I take it a couple times a week.......Just wanted to put that out there.......
