Guest guest
Ruth, You absolutely must get your blood pressure down and quickly! You are seriously risking kidney and eye damage not to mention the possible devastating effects of a stroke. If you think your present health problems are a load, try being paralyzed and unable to speak...a few days in the hospital to regulate that pressure would be a good start. There is nothing quite as horrible as a stroke...my Mom had two major ones and several small ones, PLEASE encourage your doctor to be more aggressive in treating this. Guest guest
Hi Debra, Thanks for the encouragement. Fortunately for me my doctor has been proactive for me over many years of not having a diagnosis and is supportive now and studying mito even though I am the only patient he has with it. I am lucky to have him. My husband and I got a blood pressure monitor and are watching it close. I was already on Hyzaar and it brought it down once for quite a while but it has never gotten this high, now he has doubled the hyzaar. We will keep in close contact with him. This morning it was 142/91 so I think we are headed in the right direction. I am actually more worried about the diabetic status even though it is mild now as it means a life style change for me.I can't just pop a pill to fix it. My mother was a severe diabetic, but heir's didn't start until she was 8 years older than me. Do you know anything about this Actos that he has put me on for insulin resistance? Thanks, Ruth _____ From: Debra Beckmann Sent: Thursday, June 17, 2004 10:17 AM To: Subject: Ruth Ilene Fox! Ruth, You absolutely must get your blood pressure down and quickly!
