Guest guest
Hi guys, I tried figuring out things on the Hyatt website, with no luck. So I more or less threw myself at the phone and I just finished a 40 minute long overseas phone call to make a reservation... First they have you on hold " one of our....will be available in a moment " ... Oh well, it took 8-9 minutes... But then I got a nice lady on the phone... She told me that they had an opening on July 15 - 19 only. After taking all info she needed, she put me through to another person who would confirm if they had the room I needed. After a lot of back and forth, staying on hold several times, I told the lady " Too bad you didn't have an opening the days before and a day after the conference. If you get an opening because somebody cancel, could you please notify me by e-mail? " . Then the lady says, we didn't have an opening? She checks, and they do have an opening. She had to put me on hold and check for another 10 minutes though, but the room was available and I made sure that it would be the same rate, something she said it would. But she said something about a different code. So I am wondering... The code I got, was G-EDNF... There may be more rooms at the same rate anyway, but under a different code than that one. I asked her if there were more rooms now, said that one other had been told that they only had one room left (which would have to be the one I got), and she said they had more rooms under a different code. Stupid me forgot to ask what that code was. So... I suggest that those of you who haven't already made reservations, do it now... Call them at 1 ... Before, when I talked to the other lady, I asked her if there were some other hotels near by where I could maybe get a room before and after the conference. She said that two blocks away were these hotels: Radisson 1 Hamptons 1 Hope this means that things aren't as bad as some person told you, Joyce... Maybe you should try to call again? Now I can't remember if it was the last lady I talked to who said her name was Nina, or if it was the last one who figured things out... But you could try to ask for Nina. When you call first, you get a lot of choices, where one was something with conventions. I did not choose that one, but I remember I dialed " 3 " , then I think it was " 2 " . The lady that figured things out and said that there was another code, was the one she put me through to in order to confirm if they had handicap rooms available. She said that all handicap rooms with a wheel in shower, were non-smoking rooms. But it may be a problem if people do it anyway. They had one handicap room with a tub, only one, which you could smoke in. But that is MY ROOM now!!!! He-he... But, I must say... That a simple reservation takes 40 minutes, or more than 30 minutes for the reservation itself, tells me that they have a problem with things. That Joyce is told that they only have one room left at the conference rate, then one lady tells me that they don't have available rooms for some of the days before/after the conference, while another say they do and are able to make the reservation, must mean that there's a bit of a mess at that hotel... Or????? Have a nice day!!! Aase Marit (Pheeeeeew!!!!!)
