Guest guest
Sounds like my hubby ~ he'll say he wants a certain something to eat while we're out ~ fast food ~ and when I say I'm not hungry or that I'll eat something at home ~ he'll 'pout' and say just forget it !!! I guess he thinks he's making me suffer !!!!!! But I've gotten to the point that I'm looking out for ME !!! He doesn't need to lose weight ~ but he's supposed to be watching the foods he eats cause of his heart and cholesterol problems ~ and he never does !!!!! He'll act like he's never heard that he shouldn't be eating a certain food !!!!!!!! Gimme a break !!!!!!! Grammy Pat, we can work on our hubbies while we help ourselves !!!!!! We won't 'enable' them anymore !!!!!!!!! Hugs, Randie Re: Why I have a support group That's the way to do it Winnie. I know its hard. My husband was mad at me cause I didn't get any cheese and crackers for New Years Eve. I said no, neither of us need cheese and crackers and pepperoni. He needs to lose 80 pounds. Today on my way back from my walk I was thinking I needed to go to the store and get potatoes for supper and then I thought he doesn't need potatoes either. So he will have carrots and green beans with the pot roast, like it or not. What do they call that when you contribute to someone's bad habits? I cant remember but I cant control what he does when I'm gone but I can control the meals I prepare and what I have in the house. Guest guest
Here's what I did today. He showed up at work at lunchtime and wanted to go to Philly cheesesteak but I said no and we went to subway. Then I stopped at the store and Steak was on sale so I got some. Usually I would have cooked the whole 2 steaks and we would eat most of it with a little leftover for a sandwich. Well I divided it up into 3 and froze the rest. We each had about 5-6 oz and it was plenty. I also only bought 1 baked potato. We each had a half with smart balance and nonfat sour cream and for veggies I got a bag of Birds Eye Cauliflower in garlic sauce. It is really good and we had lots of that. It was plenty of food. If I had made the whole steak and each of us a baked potato we would have stuffed ourselves. Now I made some sugar free Jell-O with bananas for a treat. I have stayed within points for 3 days and had only 1/2 cup of diet coke at lunch. Nothing else but water. "Just Doin' it" Grammy Pat It's not that some people have willpower and some don't. Guest guest
I totally agree with repackaging food and freezing it when we get home from the grocery store. It's so true...if it's there, more than likely you will eat the whole thing! You are being so smart about your choices....2006 is gonna be GrammyPat's year! Keep up the good work! Guest guest
are you on weight watchers flex points????Janice I am doing points, yes, but I save my flex for my treat day. And I only have a treat day if I have a loss. I also follow south beach in that I cut way back on carbs. I have 1 piece toast for breakfast and either a whole wheat wrap or whole wheat bread for lunch or a south beach dinner with no carbs. I have 1 fruit a day and all the green veggies I want. If I have carrots or corn then that is my starch and I don't have any potato or rice or bread with that meal. If I had no carbs for lunch then I have 1/2 baked potato or rice for dinner. I also have V8 and a green qi every day which is like a serving of veggies. Now this is how I eat when I'm on track. If I even touch a sweet or pasta I'm sunk. I go totally out of control.
