Guest guest
I expect 5 HTP is probably safe for 99% of the people who use it, but just in case, I want ed to let you know of my experience with it. My Lyme doc put me on it just about a year ago. I had not previously had any blood sugar problems, except for hypoglycemia and the tendency for my blood sugar to lurk in the 65-106 range. Soon after starting 5 HTP I woke up at 11:30 PM feeling sick with an unexplained blood sugar reading of 330. A few nights later I woke up feeling TERRIBLE with a blood sugar reading of 475. I had no clue what to do and the doc was out of the country for two weeks. I figured out on my own that it was the 5 HTP and since stoppping it ,have never had a similiar problem. As I said, my experiences was probably TOTALLY abnormal but , like with any new med or supplement, I would suggest one just keep an eye out for sensitivity the first few times you take it.
