Guest guest
Hi, I am in the process of being evaluated for Mito. I have seen a Specialist and he wants me to rule out other possibilities so he is sending me to a Neurologist familiar with Mitochondrial disorders. I have an appt next week and am trying to prepare for the appt. I hoped to get some suggestions from all of you about what I should ask him. I assume he will look over my medical history and do an exam. I also have MRI films for him to look at. I assume we will get to the point where he will rule out other things. I have seen neurologists over the years in response to lots of symptoms and no one ever came up with anything. Once he does rule out, I guess we can then discuss mito. When we get to that point, I could ask questions. Actually, are there other conditions that you are aware of that I should be sure he rules out? I also thought that if there is any research that I should look at that I could ask him about, now is the time to do that. I just don't want to leave there and think of something I should have brought or something I should have called his attention to, or something I should have asked. Any and all input is much appreciated. thanks, Adam
Guest guest
Adam I think reading the info on umdf website (library section), might give you some ideas. Be sure to check to see if they want your reports and things ahead of time or not. Take a list of medications and supplements you are taking. Take a list of all the doctors you are seeing or have seen in the past few years. Be sure to start now to write down questions in a notebook which you can take along. If you have someone who can go with you, then ask them to write the answers that you get to your questions. It is really hard to do both and to remember everything that has been said. Results from labs are usually important to have for the neuro. Guest guest
A small tape recorder to record the docs answers might work well too as long as the doc doesn't mind. Guest guest
Keep in mind that many of us have previously been dx'ed as have MG, Fibromyalgia, CFS, etc. Some of the symptoms may fit, but not totally. Good luck! adamm321@... wrote: >Hi, > >I am in the process of being evaluated for Mito.
